Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations, with a share of 53% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the Asia-Pacific food service industry in Q2 2023 , ahead of Management Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.
The other prominent roles included Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 3% share in Q2 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 2% share and Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 1% share of new job postings.
Top five companies accounted for 88% of hiring activity
AmRest Holdings posted 10,229 jobs in Q2 2023 and registered a decline of 21% over the previous quarter, followed by Domino's Pizza Enterprises with 1,338 jobs and a 30% drop. Compass Group, with 847 jobs, and McDonald's, with 688 jobs, recorded a 36% drop and a 108% rise, respectively, while Minor International recorded a 34% decline with a 666 new job postings during Q2 2023.
Regional analysis of hiring in the Asia-Pacific food service industry, Q2 2023
Macao (China SAR) held the leading share of the Asia-Pacific food service hiring activity with a 33.67% share, a 23% decrease over Q1 2023. Australia was next with 26.18%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
