Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations drive food service industry hiring activity

Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations, which accounted for 27% of the total new job postings in Q1 2024 and were down by 55% year-on-year. Second highest were Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations, which accounted for 13% and rise by 160% year-on-year, and third highest were Management Occupations, which were 6% of the new job postings and 26% lower year-on-year.

Top five companies in food service industry accounted for 86% of hiring activity

The highest number of jobs were posted by Compass Group with 1,049, followed by Domino's Pizza with 686, while the highest increase was at McDonald's at 147%.
