Cheese was found to be the most-used ingredient in QSR establishments, featuring in 17% of menu items, followed by vegetables and chicken. Pork and herbs, spices & seasonings were also significant ingredients. An analysis of menu categories reveals that pasta & pizza, meat dishes, soft drinks, salads & sides and burgers were most popular within the QSR format.

An analysis of the annual price change between 2022 and 2023 indicates that the average menu prices in Germany QSR channel have flat growth. Considering all channels (including QSR) the average price change was 0%. As on-premises dining gains momentum following the COVID-19 pandemic, the QSR segment in Germany is expected to experience overall growth.
