IT jobs accounted for a 0.13% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 53.97% in September 2021, a 29.9% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.08% in September 2021, marking an 11.76% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.9% in September 2021, a 7.14% rise from August 2021.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 11.11% in September 2021, a 12.5% decline over the previous month.
Top five food service companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.13% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Compass Group posted 35 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by Starbucks with 25 jobs and a 19.35% drop. Domino’s Pizza with 18 IT jobs and McDonald’s with 8 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 79.49% drop, respectively, while Chick-fil-A recorded a 53.33% decline with 7 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 99.21% share in September 2021, a 17.76% decrease over August 2021. Canada featured next with a 0.79% share, down 83.33% over the previous month.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.08%, down by 8.89% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.6% share, registered a decline of 31.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.52% share, down 42.86% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.79%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
