May 2022 has seen an increase of 29.29% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 0.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in May 2022

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 37.09% in May 2022, a 67.25% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 35.1% in May 2022, marking an 8.16% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.92% in May 2022, a 63.64% rise from April 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 8.61% in May 2022, an 18.75% decline over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 51.53% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during May 2022 over previous month.

Aimbridge Hospitality posted 30 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 78.72% over the previous month, followed by Chick-fil-A with 19 jobs and a 375% growth. HelloFresh with 19 IT jobs and The University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 14 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 44% drop, respectively, while McDonald’s recorded an 85.71% increase with 13 job postings during May 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 96.69% share in May 2022, a 43.41% decrease over April 2022. Mexico featured next with a 2.65% share, up 300% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 0.66% share, a drop of 66.67% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.55%, down by 50.96% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.88% share, registered a growth of 28.57% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.57% share, down 33.33% over April 2022.
