IT jobs accounted for a 0.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 42.76% in April 2022, a 21.52% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20% in April 2022, marking a 141.67% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.41% in April 2022, a flat growth from March 2022.

Top five food service companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.97% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during April 2022 over previous month.

Darden Restaurants posted 34 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by The University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 33 jobs and a 2.94% drop. Chipotle Mexican Grill with 21 IT jobs and Starbucks with 15 jobs, recorded an 8.7% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while McDonald’s recorded a 41.18% decline with 10 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 97.93% share in April 2022, a 6.77% increase over March 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.38% share, flat growth over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.69% share, a flat growth compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.55%, down by 2.38% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.41% share, registered a growth of 51.61% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.34% share, down 21.05% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.69%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
