The US’s food service industry registered a 0.5% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.49% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.13% share in September 2021, recording a flat growth over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.4% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.6% in September 2021, registering a 29.47% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.2% share, an increase of 11.76% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12%, registering a 7.14% rise from August 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.2%, down 6.67% over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 16.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Compass Group posted 35 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 105.88% over the previous month, followed by Starbucks with 25 jobs and a 19.35% drop. Domino’s Pizza with 18 IT jobs and McDonald’s with 8 jobs, recorded a 100% flat growth and a 79.49% decrease, respectively, while Chick-fil-A recorded a decline of 53.33% with 7 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.6%, down by 5.75% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.6% share, down 33.33% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.8%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
