The US’s food service industry registered a 17.0% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 20.89% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.64% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in June 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 52.49% in June 2022, registering a 58.88% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.83% share, an increase of 105.88% over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 10.93%, registering a 3.51% decline from May 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.36%, up 45.45% over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 43.79% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Bloomin’ Brands posted 189 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 69.02% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 100 jobs and a 222.58% growth. Denny’s with 39 IT jobs and Darden Restaurants with 23 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while HelloFresh recorded an increase of 5.26% with 20 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.08%, down by 41.64% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 7.16% share, registered an increase of 28.57% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.76% share, up 6.25% over May 2022.
