The US’s food service industry registered a 0.1% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.26% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.24% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.77% in February 2022, registering a 30% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 19.19% share, a decrease of 5.71% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 18.02%, registering a 36.73% decline from January 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 10.47%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 29.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

HelloFresh posted 33 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 58.23% over the previous month, followed by The University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 24 jobs and a 17.24% drop. Starbucks with 22 IT jobs and Chipotle Mexican Grill with 19 jobs, recorded a 12% decline and a 58.33% growth, respectively, while Chick-fil-A recorded an increase of 8.33% with 13 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.58%, down by 35.07% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 25% share, registered a decline of 33.85% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 24.42% share, down 16% over January 2022.
