The US’s food service industry registered an 8.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.33% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.66% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.66% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in July 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 62.67% in July 2022, registering a 37.92% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.62% share, a decrease of 20.99% over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 8.28%, registering an 18.33% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.73%, down 12.5% over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 42.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Bloomin’ Brands posted 351 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 85.71% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 100 jobs and a 12.28% drop. The University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 19 IT jobs and Starbucks with 17 jobs, recorded an 18.75% growth and a 70% growth, respectively, while HelloFresh recorded a decline of 33.33% with 16 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 92.23%, up by 18.44% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 3.89% share, registered a decline of 32.35% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.89% share, down 42.5% over June 2022.
