US-based restaurant company Applebee’s Neighbourhood Grill + Bar has partnered with on-demand restaurant delivery service DoorDash.

As part of the deal, DoorDash will be integrated into Applebee’s point of sale system to enhance customer experience.

The integration will enable the delivery platform to scale more of the fast casual chain’s restaurants faster, as well as update menu changes, item availability and limited availability offers online.

Customers can choose a range of items from the restaurant’s regular and limited time menus and customise orders through DoorDash through the restaurant’s website or mobile app.

“As one of the first in its category to offer off-premise dining options, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Applebee’s.”

DoorDash will also focus on removing manual touch points in the delivery process, enabling customers to place orders conveniently.

DoorDash chief operating officer Christopher Payne said: “As one of the first in its category to offer off-premise dining options, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Applebee’s as their largest on-demand logistics provider delivering from more than 500 locations nationwide and counting.

“DoorDash values the high-quality selection and added convenience we bring to our customers, and this new partnership comes at the perfect time so that football fans can get their Applebee’s favourites delivered to their couch without missing prime time plays.”

The restaurant chain also recently launched To Go packaging technology for its boneless wings, grilled 8oz top sirloin and handcrafted burgers.

Applebee’s currently operates more than 1,700 restaurants across 50 US states, Puerto Rico, Guam and 13 other countries.
