Argentinian street food chain Clasico Argentino has launched in London, in partnership with steakhouse the Gaucho Group.
Operating seven restaurants across Paris, Argentinian co-founders Enrique Zanoni and head chef, Gaston Stivelmaher specialise in “traditional,” ”authentic” empanadas – offering 12 different varieties based on recipes from Buenos Aires.
Situated next to Gaucho’s Piccadilly restaurant on Swallow Street, the new restaurant has space for 18 covers inside and 16 outside, with takeaways and delivery also available through Deliveroo. It will also operate a Clasico Argentino food truck next to Gaucho Broadgate, which can be used for private hire and events across London.
Zanoni said: “Londoners love to embrace food from around the world. And whilst our empanadas are as authentic as they come, there’s a satisfying familiarity to our buttery pastries.
“They are filled with a choice of fresh, seasonal ingredients including tasty meat, cheese or vegetables or fish. We shape and crimp them, and bake until golden brown.”
Clasico Argentino is open from 8am -10pm seven days a week.
