American franchise chain of quick service restaurants (QSR) Back Yard Burgers has named Scott Shotter as its chief executive officer.
Private equity firm Axum Capital Partners, which acquired a controlling interest in the chain in July last year, has hired Shotter to lead a new growth strategy based on his expertise in operations, guest loyalty and team building strategies.
Prior to this role, Shotter served as the operations vice-president with Moe’s Southwest Grill for nine years. At Moe’s, he played a major role in expanding the presence of the brand from 200 locations to more than 700 locations.
Before joining Moe’s Southwest Grill, Shotter managed operations for more than 30 restaurant brands such as Starbucks, Sbarro, Popeye’s, Johnny Rockets and Burger King.
Shotter said: “I’m very excited about these plans and it is one reason I joined the team. In addition to the new store prototype, we’re going to focus on the culinary and service experience Back Yard Burgers provides to our customers.
“We know that our franchise partners are going to be equally excited and we look forward to rolling out what I believe is a well-planned growth strategy.”
