Coffee shop franchisor Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has signed a three-store agreement in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

The announcement follows two multi-unit development agreements in Phoenix, showcasing the brand’s expansion plans.

The latest franchisee, Umang Patel, is spearheading the Las Vegas development, with the first store expected to open in the first half of 2024.

Patel and his team are currently selecting sites, considering both traditional and non-traditional locations for the upcoming stores.

The expansion will introduce the second Bad Ass Coffee store to the Las Vegas market, reinforcing the brand’s presence in the region.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii CEO Scott Snyder stated: “Umang’s dedication to entrepreneurial success through building a strong family culture and creating exceptional customer experiences exemplify the qualities that we value most in our franchise partners.

“As we expand our presence in the Southwest, Umang’s experience, capabilities and vision align well with our aggressive desired growth goals in the vibrant Las Vegas market – often referred to as the 9th Hawaiian Island due to the high concentration of Hawaiian citizens now residing in the area.”

The coffee brand stated that multi-unit growth is a cornerstone of its strategy, as more than 70% of its franchise stores are now comprised of multi-unit operators.

Bad Ass Coffee offers its franchisees assistance with territory selection, financing, real estate and construction management.

In September 2023, the brand made strides in Texas, signing two agreements to increase its footprint.

The agreements cover a five-store deal in North San Antonio and a three-store deal in Dallas-Fort Worth, the first of the latter will open in early 2024.

Founded in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii’s offerings include blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brew coffees, teas, Hawaiian-inspired foods and branded merchandise.
