American full-service family dining concept Black Bear Diner has announced the opening of three new locations in Texas.
The outlets in Baytown, San Antonio’s Monterrey Village, and Laredo are part of the company’s broader eastward growth plans.
Black Bear Diner now operates 24 locations across Texas.
The new Baytown diner is located at 4021 E IH 10, the San Antonio’s Monterrey Village diner is at 8614 State Highway 151, and the Laredo diner is at 2704 N.E. Bob Bullock Loop.
The Texas openings are part of the brand’s focus on optimising operations and enhancing return on investment.
Black Bear has introduced new design changes in these locations, creating a standardised prototype for future developments.

By GlobalDataEach location has a reduced overall footprint while maintaining the size of the dining room to ensure the guest experience is not compromised.
The reduced footprint model boosts operational efficiency and broadens the scope for real estate opportunities, which could further accelerate the brand’s growth.
The expansion brings significant employment opportunities, with each new diner creating between 80 and 100 jobs.
Black Bear Diner’s focused growth in Texas is part of a larger strategy that includes operating 161 diners across 13 states, with plans to open two more locations by the end of 2024.
Black Bear Diner CEO Anita Adams said: “Texas continues to be a key growth market for Black Bear Diner.
“The enthusiastic reception we’ve received across the state re-affirms our belief in the enduring appeal of our concept and is a testament to Texas’s robust economy.
“We’re not just opening restaurants: we’re investing in communities and creating local gathering spots that resonate with Texans. We’re committed to continued investment here, with plans for further expansion in both existing and new markets across the state.”
In April 2024, Black Bear Diner expanded its restaurant footprint in the US by opening two locations in Texas and one in Arizona.
