Good Group Australia, the hospitality business operating the Botswana Butchery chain and the Asian restaurant chain White & Wong, has entered voluntary administration.

The future of three Botswana Butchery restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra – all of which were opened in February 2024 – is under review. The outlets are continuing to trade.

The situation for associated restaurants White + Wong’s and Wong Baby is more dire, with all locations ceasing trading.

The appointed administrators from BDO Australia, Andrew Sallway and Duncan Clubb, have commenced what they describe as an “urgent assessment” of the company’s affairs.

They aim to explore restructuring opportunities or a potential sale of the business in its entirety.

Good Group Australia first entered the Australian market in 2022 with the opening of Botswana Butchery restaurants at Martin Place in Sydney and Flinders Lane in Melbourne.
