Cameron House, a five-star hotel on Loch Lomond in Scotland, has expanded its dining options with the opening of the new La Vista restaurant.

The venue, previously known as the Boat House restaurant, will now serve as a modern Italian eatery with 138 covers, The Caterer has reported.

La Vista features a terrace for al fresco dining, adding a further 120 covers, which will be introduced in the summer season.

The restaurant, under the guidance of head chef Mark Pawsey, will operate throughout the day, seven days a week.

The menu presents authentic Italian dishes including small aperitivo plates, cicchetti, signature mains, handmade pasta and pizzas wood-fired pizzas in a Valoriani oven.

Dishes include nduja steamed mussels served with homemade focaccia, Angus beef with mushrooms, and swordfish with artichoke tagliande.

The daily selection will also feature freshly made pasta and pizzas topped with premium ingredients such as Fior di Latte mozzarella and Tuscan fennel sausage, DRAM Scotland has reported.

Cameron House has invested £2m for the restaurant’s relaunch. Interior design services were provided by BJM Design, to enhance the panoramic views available from the location.

Cameron House director Michael Lavizani was quoted by The Caterer as saying: “Reflecting on the rich history of the estate, the restaurant takes inspiration from the breathtaking vistas of Loch Lomond and the adventures of Tobias Smollett, the renowned Scottish author whose family once owned Cameron House hotel.

“La Vista celebrates the vibrant culinary heritage of Italy, curated by our skilled chefs and management team. Open daily to both guests and locals, we look forward to bringing a touch of la dolce vita to the resort.”

The site will also introduce a casual Mercato deli, accommodating 50 covers, where guests can dine and also purchase a variety of Italian products including olive oils, pesto, vinegars, cured meats, cheeses and wines.

The opening of La Vista and the accompanying deli is a strategic move by Cameron House to enhance its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions business.
