Fast casual Tex-Mex restaurant franchise Capital Tacos has announced its plans to open a new restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida.

This new restaurant will be situated 200 miles from Tampa, Capital Tacos’ place of origin.

For this location, the brand has already engaged with two local and experienced restaurateurs, with plans to open the new restaurant later this year or early next year.

Capital Tacos said that its ‘scratch-made’ Tex-Mex flavours and menu attracted the Jacksonville restaurateurs to finalise the latest development deal.

The upcoming restaurant is expected to feature the expertise and experience of both franchisees in the restaurant space.

Capital Tacos co-founder Josh Luger said: “We are thrilled to be bringing the handcrafted flavours of Capital Tacos to Jacksonville as we continue to branch out into every corner of our home state of Florida.

“Given the extensive history our newest franchisees have in the restaurant industry, we are confident this new location will find quick success.”

Following the opening of this Jacksonville restaurant, the franchisees are also planning to expand their reach in the area by opening more restaurants.

However, this decision will be made after the Jacksonville community is familiarised with the brand and its food.

Capital Tacos co-founder James Marcus said: “After being in Florida for ten years and branching out coast to coast, it’s amazing to see there are still significant opportunities to break ground in new territories in our home state.

“This deal to introduce the Jacksonville area to Capital Tacos isn’t just about expanding our business; it’s about sparking the passion for our authentic flavours and cultivating a Tex-Mex revolution that brings people together, one bite at a time.”

In early 2022, Capital Tacos launched its franchise programme. Since then, the brand has been working on expanding its footprint beyond Tampa.

The company currently has several brick-and-mortar restaurants open or under development in Charlotte, Atlanta, Colorado and Florida.
