US fast-casual seafood restaurant chain Captain D’s has further expanded its footprint in Texas by opening a new restaurant in Corsicana.

The new outlet is the company’s first branch between the Dallas and Houston metro areas. It also brings the chain’s total number of Texas locations to 19.

Built as a freestanding unit, the 1,950ft² restaurant has seating for 44 guests.

Captain D’s said the site features the company’s coastal-inspired store design.

The Corsicana restaurant is owned and managed by multi-unit franchisee Joseph Omobogie, whose franchise holdings also include Captain D’s, Golden Chick, Marco’s Pizza, Thai Express and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

Captain D’s chief development officer Brad Reed said: “Joseph is a highly accomplished, growth-minded operator who understands how to scale successful restaurant concepts.

“His expansion into Corsicana supports our broader Texas growth strategy and represents an important step in building brand connectivity between major metropolitan markets.”

In January, Captain D’s opened a new restaurant in Gainesville, Florida.

The 2,172ft² restaurant is in an end-cap unit, a format the company links to operational benefits. It includes a drive-through and a dining room with 36 seats.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Captain D’s operates more than 530 restaurants across 23 US states and three countries.
