American fast food restaurant chain Carl’s Jr has expanded its menu with the introduction of the Spicy Breakfast Burger and the relaunch of its Spicy Western Bacon Burger.

The restaurant brand, operated by CKE Restaurants, noted that these new offerings are variations on its signature Western Bacon Cheeseburger.

Spicy Breakfast Burger features a charbroiled beef patty, jalapeño coins [small fried discs], crispy bacon, a fresh egg, melted pepperjack cheese, Hash Rounds and ketchup in a seeded bun.

The Spicy Western Bacon Cheeseburger comes with a charbroiled Angus patty, jalapeño coins, two strips of bacon, pepperjack cheese, crispy onion rings and BBQ sauce, also served on a seeded bun.

Carl’s Jr brand marketing vice-president Anthony Nguyen said: “The Spicy Breakfast Burger and the Spicy Western Bacon Cheeseburger mark the first product launches in our Crave campaign, focused on satiating the craveable flavours that our guests desire.

In August 2023, Carl’s Jr added a new burger and shake to its menu.

The Big Char Chile Burger and Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake were rolled out for a limited time across all the company’s restaurants in the US.

The Big Char Chile Burger featured a beef patty topped with Santa Fe sauce, whole charred green chile, iceberg lettuce and pepper jack cheese on a toasted seeded bun.

The Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake is a blend of ice cream and milk with caramel syrup, pretzel pieces and whipped topping.

CKE Restaurants also operates the Hardee’s restaurant brand.

The two brands are known for charbroiled burgers, made-from-scratch biscuits and hand-breaded chicken tenders.

Carl’s Jr and Hardee’s have 3,800 franchised or company-operated restaurants in 44 states and 35 international markets and US territories.
