US-based fast casual chain Chicken Salad Chick has named Barbara Blackwell as its catering director.

Blackwell will be responsible for the company’s catering operations, spearhead initiatives to increase catering sales and streamline operations across its 86 locations.

Apart from this, she will also train the company’s corporate catering managers.

“With Barbara’s catering and marketing expertise and proven track record, we’re confident that her skillset is exactly what we need.”

Prior to this role, Blackwell worked with Bruegger’s Bagels as its catering director and was responsible for developing and managing the company’s catering sales strategies and marketing promotions across North America.

Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney said: “Barbara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Chicken Salad Chick and has already become a valuable asset to our brand.

“With Barbara’s catering and marketing expertise and proven track record, we’re confident that her skillset is exactly what we need to elevate our catering programme and catapult our brand to the next level.”

Before serving at Bruegger’s Bagels, she also worked with various fast casual, quick service and fine dining concepts, including Corner Bakery Café, Arby’s and LeDuff America.

Established in 2008, Chicken Salad Chick serves a range of food items including 12 original chicken salad flavours, side salads, gourmet soups, sandwiches and desserts.

The restaurant chain currently operates 86 locations, including both franchise-owned and company-owned, in nine US states.
