US-based casual dining chain Chili’s Grill & Bar has closed all its stores in Singapore, the company announced the closures on its official Facebook page.
In a statement on its official website, Chili’s Grill & Bar said: “As of 24th March, we have closed all of our restaurants in Singapore. It’s been a wonderful ten years serving our loyal community. Thank you for all the great moments and memories we shared.”
The dining chain entered Singapore with its first location opened in Tanglin Mall in June 2009 and expanded its presence with three more locations at Resorts World Sentosa, Clarke Quay Central and JCube, reported Inside Retail.
It would have been Chili’s 10th year with locations in Singapore, having 1,500 locations across the globe.
The restaurant chain was first launched in 1975 by Larry Lavine.
Popular for its Tex-Mex and American cuisine, the restaurant chain’s offerings included appetizers, salads, sandwiches, craft burgers, baby back ribs, steaks, tacos, pastas, fajitas and enchiladas.

By GlobalDataEarlier this month, reports emerged that Gourmet Investments (GIPL), a company promoted by Bharti Group, was in discussions to purchase certain properties of US-based casual dining chain Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants in India.
The Times of India reported that the deal could include 13 restaurants and valued between $14.3m and $17.16m.
GIPL has plans to open additional 80 locations by 2020.
Chili’s is the flagship brand of Dallas-based Brinker International, which currently operates more than 1,600 locations in 33 countries and two territories.
