US-based Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream has announced that it is planning to further expand its franchise operations in 2024, building on the momentum gained in the first quarter.

The brand is introducing new delivery options, new flavours and cookies to its menu in the second quarter to enhance customer experience and franchisee return on investment.

In the first quarter of 2024, Chill-N launched a line of healthy add-in ingredients, including protein, to complement its ice cream offerings.

A successful collaboration with Knaus Berry Farm saw the introduction of cinnamon rolls as a mix-in option, expected to become a seasonal favourite.

The company has been finalising a process for customers to order customised ice cream pints for delivery.

New flavours such as olive oil sea salt, black cherry cheesecake, and orange peel chocolate are set to debut in the second quarter of the year. Cookies with three new flavours are set for release in late 2024.

Chill-N is also focused on improving the financial prospects of its franchisees. In 2023, the brand achieved a 20% reduction in opening costs for new franchise owners by redesigning the nitrogen tanks used in their flash-freezing process.

With three new locations already added to its development pipeline, Chill-N aims to sign at least three more franchisees by the end of this year.

Chill-N’s CEO David Leonardo said: “We’re constantly innovating with technology, evolving our brand to meet modern demands. We are not a brand that has rested on its laurels. From advanced software to liquid nitrogen equipment to our automated cream dispensing machine, we’re enhancing efficiency and quality.

“We started with two bases ten years ago and have grown to offer six. We are constantly driving throughput and minimising wait times. Delivery has been a huge focus for us this year.

“Delivery makes up almost 20% of our business. We’re at the forefront of ice cream delivery, especially with custom ice cream. Because we are able to flash freeze the ice cream, by the time it gets to your house, it’s as if we’ve handed it to you over the counter. That is something that we’re extremely proud of.”
