Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group has opened its 53rd restaurant at Westwood University Station in Massachusetts.

The opening of Del Frisco’s Grille marks the US-based fine dining steakhouse chain’s 25th location.

Covering an area of 7,500ft², Del Frisco’s Grille is an upscale bar and grill restaurant that offers modern American cuisine with handcrafted cocktails. It will feature extensive wine lists, as well as both indoor and outdoor dining spaces.

Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group chief executive officer Norman Abdallah said: “We are thrilled to continue expanding our Del Frisco’s Grille concept into Westwood, Massachusetts, the third in the Boston area.

“We look forward to sharing our prime steaks with our guests at the University Station in Westwood.”

The one storey restaurant will be in close proximity to various stores and restaurants including Wegmans, Lifetime Fitness and Brigham at University Station.

Last month, the group announced plans to open a Del Frisco’s Grille in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this November, while it has signed a lease agreement for another location in Philadelphia, expected to open in the fourth quarter this year.

Earlier this month, the group reported financial results for the fourth quarter ended 26 December 2017, which included an increase in comparable restaurant sales by 0.9% comprised of a 1.7% increase in average check, partially offset by a 0.8% decrease in customer counts.

With a collection of 53 restaurants across 23 states and Washington, D.C., the restaurant group also owns and operates Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and Sullivan’s Steakhouse locations.
