Fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain District Taco based in Falls Church, Virginia, has signed several development deals to expand across the US.
The restaurant chain currently has 14 locations open across Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
It now plans to open ten to 15 franchised locations every year and touch the 80-location mark by 2027.
The restaurant company signed multi-unit development deals during the last six months.
These deals will take 40 locations in Central and West Florida, ten in New Jersey, and ten in the Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, and Tidewater areas of Virginia state.
District Taco serves fresh and authentic Yucatán-inspired dishes from tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, quesadillas, and more.
Its menu items are completely customisable, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
District Taco vice president of franchise development Tina Gantz said: “We’re excited to expand District Taco’s presence and have established a unique concept and franchising model to support our franchise partners.
“Fueling our expansion with motivated partners is just one way for us to continue our mission of providing customers with an experience that exceeds expectations, from our high-quality ingredients, to our outstanding customer service.”
District Taco was started by Osiris Hoil and Marc Wallace and had a humble beginning in 2009 as a food cart serving breakfast tacos.
It is seeking franchise partners who include multi-unit operators or senior restaurant professionals with experience operating five or more restaurants.
Hoil said: “District Taco began as a small dream and has now expanded across several states due to our commitment to serving fresh, authentic Mexican food and our focus on innovation.
“This is an exciting step for our brand and we are making a name for ourselves as leaders in the industry.”
