ezCater has acquired catering management platform Monkey Group to integrate its takeaway, delivery and catering platform.

The merger will allow ezCater’s marketplace and software platform to process more catering orders from restaurants and caterers.

Monkey’s point-of-sale (POS), loyalty and back-of-the-house systems will assist ezCater in processing orders and data to flow across its entire operation.

ezCater co-founder and CEO Stefania Mallett said: “ezCater’s and Monkey Group’s strengths line up exceptionally well.

“Our customers tell us they want more orders, and ezCater’s marketplace drives growth for so many restaurants.”

“Combining Monkey Group’s industry leading offerings with ezCater’s nationwide online marketplace, expert marketing engine, and API-first platform results in faster, more profitable growth for restaurants.”

Based in Vancouver, Monkey Group is currently operating as MonkeySoft Solutions (MSI). The group will maintain its existing brands, MONKEYMEDIA Software, The Catering Institute and Off-Premise Insights.

Restaurant brands such as Einstein Bros Bagels, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Schlotzsky’s currently use both platforms and will benefit from new POS integrations and streamlined data flow.

Monkey Group founder and CEO Erle Dardick said: “Our customers tell us they want more orders, and ezCater’s marketplace drives growth for so many restaurants. We’re thrilled to join forces to help foodservice operators thrive even more.”

In July last year, ezCater completed an acquisition of French corporate catering platform GoCater. This deal expanded GoCater’s catering partner network with US-based restaurants, catering chains and independent locations across Europe.
