Fleury Michon America (FMA) has agreed to purchase Dutch in-flight catering solutions firm Marfo Food Group.
Established in 1972, Marfo Group’s solutions include packaging, design, presentation and logistics.
The company serves 200,000 meals a day with 625 employees working across its operations. It operates production facilities in Lelystad, The Netherlands; and Veurne, Belgium.
The deal is expected to expand Fleury Michon’s international airline catering business in Europe.
Fleury Michon general manager Regis Lebrun said: “According to our strategic plan, we are accelerating our expansion through acquisitions. The Marfo acquisition allows us to take position in the growing airline catering industry and making this division one of the group’s main activity.”
FMA and Marfo currently serve airline customers in various countries across Europe, the Middle East, Thailand, Korea, China, Japan, Canada and the US.

By GlobalDataFollowing the completion of the transaction, both companies will benefit from a combined management team based in Quebec, the Netherlands and France, as well as a field team in the US, Thailand, Korea and Japan.
In addition, FMA has commenced other development projects to mark the company’s presence in the US and Asia.
Fleury Michon America general manager John Allard said: “This accelerated growth is forcing once again the company to actively search for candidates to fill out many positions in Rigaud and other locations.”
Based in Rigaud, Quebec, Fleury Michon America employs more than 350 associates to offer a range of meals to its clients.
