Fogo de Chão, a restaurant chain specialising in Brazilian cuisine, has announced the upcoming opening of its first establishment in Columbus, Ohio, US in the second half of 2024.

The company has signed an agreement to lease a 7,245ft² space at 1425 Polaris Parkway in the Polaris Towne Center.

The restaurant’s design, developed in collaboration with the global design agency Harrison, will feature a large dining room and an open churrasco grill.

This feature will provide customers with a 360-degree view of gaucho chefs cooking by the churrasco method.

The new location will feature seasonal salads, fresh superfoods, cured meats and antipasti.

It will cater to social gatherings with specially designed spaces throughout Bar Fogo.

Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan said: “We have long anticipated expanding our presence into the state of Ohio and are excited to share our authentic culinary experience from Brazil with the Columbus community soon.

“This city’s vibrant energy and growing dining scene align with our mission to provide an immersive dining experience complete with value, variety and customisation for any occasion.”

In May 2023, Fogo de Chão signed a lease agreement to open its seventh restaurant in the Baltimore and Washington DC metropolitan area.

Set open in 2024, the 7,500ft² location is situated at The Wharf, 698 Maine Avenue SW.

The new venue will highlight the brand’s recent updates, including not only the improved design elements but also new amenities such as outdoor dining areas and dry-aged meat lockers.
