Guam-based food and facilities company GFS Group has received a $152m foodservice subcontract for the US Marine Corps Regional Garrison.
The contract will last for eight years and global foodservice and facilities management company Sodexo will act as the prime contractor.
The GFS team will provide mess hall services throughout Continental US and approximately 28 million meals per year for both the east and west coast regions.
According to the company, the contract will be effective from 1 October and end in September 2026.
GFS Group president David Alcorn was quoted by the Guam Daily Post as saying: “This opportunity is one of our biggest yet and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole GFS team.
“It is leadership and former employees that kept the spirit of making the different a reality for 15 years now.”
Recently, GFS Group was awarded as subcontractor to 18 feeding facilities. It is also under a prime contract with Navy Exchange Command to provide USDA approved hot lunches and a la carte options to approximately 2,500 elementary, middle and high school students.
GFS Group also owns and operates concept restaurants, such as Chuck E. Cheese’s, Ruby Tuesday, and other fast-food franchises.
