Grambling State University in Louisiana in the US, has entered into a long-term partnership deal with dining service provider SodexoMAGIC.

The selection of SodexoMAGIC follows a collaborative RFP process that saw the submission of proposals from several dining service providers in America.

SodexoMAGIC will beresponsible for the overhaul of campus dining facilities as part of the partnership. It also includes the launch of new menus to be overseen by TV host chef G. Garvin, a new mobile app for ordering takeout and custom-made items.

In addition, allergen-friendly meal programmes will be introduced for vegetarians and other specialised dietary requirements.

SodexoMAGIC will deliver $6.7m worth of facility renovations including a new major-brand quick-serve restaurants and a 24-hour dining facility.

The facility updates will include the addition of a Steak & Shake food truck in early autumn this year and renovation of the student union food court.

National brands Chick-fil-a, Firehouse Subs, and Pizza Hut will also be added by November.

Furthermore, McCall Dining Hall will be fully renovated during the summer of 2020 and campus Starbucks will be opened in 2021.

Grambling State president Rick Gallot said: “This agreement is a great example of what is possible when universities put our students first.

“We are fortunate to collaborate with a partner, like SodexoMAGIC who understands the holistic needs of our students.”

The deal is expected to yield $51m return on investment and comes with an option for renewal of the agreement.
