Healthcare performance optimisation and group purchasing organisation (GPO) HealthTrust has selected catering major Compass Group USA subsidiary Foodbuy for food procurement and distribution management services.

As part of the agreement, Foodbuy will offer its services to eight healthcare systems in the US under the HealthTrust brand.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, US, HealthTrust currently has a client base of more than 1,500 acute-care hospitals.

The company’s subsidiaries AdvantageTrust serves over 35,500 non-acute healthcare facilities and systems while CoreTrust serves 1,900 retail, manufacturing and hospitality members.

With the agreement, CoreTrust can now further leverage Foodbuy programmes to serve its clients.

The deal also allows HealthTrust members to generate savings through foodservice contracted programmes by gaining access to more than 3,000 Foodbuy suppliers.

In addition, Foodbuy allows members of the healthcare GPO to access its MyOrders platform for online ordering and Webtrition menu management system.

Foodbuy will also help HealthTrust members with their health and wellness goals, patient satisfaction, and sustainability requirements.

Based in the US, Foodbuy is a sourcing partner for Compass Group North America and provides food and non-food purchasing programmes for foodservice providers.
