Heritage Restaurant Group has entered an agreement to acquire Brick Alley Pub, a US-based restaurant that has been present in the local dining scene for more than four decades.

The acquisition was confirmed by Ralph and Pat Plumb, the owners of the Brick Alley Pub, who have decided to sell the restaurant to Heritage, formerly known as 1899 Ventures.

The menu includes everything from chicken wings and nachos to pizza, along with a full range of burgers.

It notably offers the official state appetiser, Point Judith Calamari, and other starters such as Baked Stuffed Clams Portuguese and Gary’s Portuguese Littlenecks.

Sandwich options feature a lobster salad roll and a New England cod sandwich, catering to the diverse tastes of its patrons. Its offerings extend to steak and pasta dishes as well, The Providence Journal has reported.

Heritage Restaurant Group has expressed its commitment to maintaining the existing staff, both front and back of house, and also plans to keep all senior management in place, including general manager Kim Dwyer.

The acquisition by Heritage Restaurant Group marks a new chapter for the Brick Alley Pub, which has been a family-run establishment with a multigenerational management team, currently led by Matt Plumb, son of Ralph and Pat.

Brick Alley founders Ralph and Pat Plumb said: “Our goal when we started Brick Alley was to build a restaurant that could be a place for everyone to enjoy. Retiring is never an easy or simple decision, however, we feel incredibly fortunate that the next owners of Brick Alley are keeping the entire team in place, including our son Matt, who has been a member of the Brick Alley team for over 20 years.”

The Heritage Restaurant Group spokesperson Michael Anderson said: “Brick Alley is a cherished spot for locals and a must-see for visitors, thanks to its prime location and reputation as a community landmark.

“Our investment is aimed at adding value where it’s needed without changing the core of what makes the Brick Alley a beloved landmark. This includes supporting the restaurant’s successful operations and exploring expansion opportunities, such as adding a refreshed back patio and increasing marketing efforts.”
