London-based hospitality group rhubarb has revealed plans to open two restaurants and an event space in New York, US, in 2019.

The restaurants will be located at the upcoming Hudson Yards development on Manhattan’s West Side and will be the first international outlets for rhubarb.

As part of the plans, rhubarb’s new 5,800ft2 restaurant concept will be opened on the fifth level of Shops and Restaurants building at Hudson Yards.

The group’s second 10,000ft2 bar, restaurant and event space will occupy two levels of the 1,296ft skyscraper, 30 Hudson Yards.

rhubarb’s new ventures will join a collection of restaurants co-curated by chef Thomas Keller at Hudson Yards.

Commenting on the plans, rhubarb CEO P.B. Jacobse said: “We are incredibly excited to be opening our first restaurants outside the UK at Hudson Yards, New York. We have been looking to open in New York for several years now and the Hudson Yards development is incomparable.

“Once completed, Hudson Yards will be regarded as the most iconic development of today’s generation, re-defining the culinary scene in New York and we simply had to be a part of it.”

Currently under development by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group, Hudson Yards will include more than 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space.

In London, rhubarb’s portfolio of popular locations and restaurants include Public Park, Sky Garden at Fenchurch Restaurant and Darwin Brasserie, and fine-dining restaurant Coda by Eric Chavot at the Royal Albert Hall.
