US technology company Jetson has introduced a new artificial intelligence-based (AI) voice ordering app called Jetson Voice Assistant for restaurants.

Leveraging the app, restaurants can offer voice first ordering and delivery to customers.

Jetson Voice Assistant features a dashboard for restaurants to implement the voice ordering feature. A natural voice dialog will be created automatically after menu items are added to the dashboard.

Customers can shop, order, and carry out business on the app, as well as make payments with the Jetson Pay service.

“The app saves customers’ preferences for future suggestions and offers analytics to the restaurant.”

Jetson CEO Peter Peng said: “As a busy start-up founder, I constantly found myself ordering from food delivery apps in order to save time between meetings and tight deadlines but this need led to astronomical food costs and eventually increased time spent in these apps searching for dishes and restaurants.

“With Jetson, we’re solving this problem with our $1 food deliveries, convenient voice search, and ordering platform, powered by AI.”

Customers within the Lower Manhattan region can use the $1 delivery service for orders placed though the voice-commerce ordering app.

Furthermore, the app saves customers’ preferences for future suggestions and offers analytics to the restaurant.

According to 2016 research by Stanford University, voice first ordering is three times faster than customers using screen interfaces.

A market research report from OC&C Strategy Consultants has also revealed that voice commerce is expected to reach an estimated $40bn in revenue by 2022 in the US.
