LSG Sky Chefs has expanded its operations by opening a customer service centre (CSC) near Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Phoenix, Arizona, US.

The 97,000ft² facility includes next-generation kitchen equipment to produce large volumes of food and others customer-centred features.

Of the total space, around 60,000ft² is dedicated for production, which will be used by 375 employees to produce more than 5,000 airline meals and almost 11,000 retail meals a day.

The company offers these meals to various customers, including American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, and Circle K.

The airline catering firm established the facility with a focus on intelligent operational design to offer consistent meals to customers.

In addition, the facility features an automated guiding vehicle to streamline operational efficiency, as well as skylights and LED lighting to minimise energy consumption.
