Catering and hospitality company LSG Sky Chefs has expanded its presence in Nigeria by opening a catering facility at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos (LOS).
Featuring technology mostly from Europe, the facility will produce up to 10,000 meals a day and is 100% halal. It also features a bakery and laundry.
LSG Group chief operations officer Jochen Müller said: “Nigeria is an economic magnet in Africa and, thanks to the expected growth, a promising location for us.
“I am very proud of our team. They have built an exemplary operation that meets international quality standards and sets new ones on this continent.”
LSG Sky Chefs has partnered with Nigerian catering entity Things Remembered Nigeria to form a joint venture company, Sky Chefs Things Remembered Services FZE, in the country in November 2014.
The JV currently offers complete catering services to airlines departing LOS.
Headquartered in Neu-Isenburg, Germany, LSG Sky Chefs provides classic catering and hospitality services to airline and train customers.
The company’s complete catering programmes include full-tray menus, premium dining on-board, last-mile logistics, crew training, and lounge and hospitality services.
LSG currently has operations at 205 airports globally, serving more than 300 airlines, as well as European train operators. It has more than 35,000 employees and provides 696 million meals annually.
