US-based pizza restaurant chain Marco’s Pizza has partnered with mobility technology company Magna to assess new mobility solutions for last-mile food delivery in North America.
The companies will trial a wide array of last-mile delivery platform options, including autonomous and electric solutions, with Marco’s franchisees in certain North American locations.
Marco’s expects each last-mile delivery platform to provide purpose-built, low-cost delivery solutions that are environmentally friendly for its franchisees.
Marco’s Pizza chief information officer Rick Stanbridge said: “As one of the largest pizza brands, we invest in innovations that drive our franchisees’ businesses forward while meeting the needs of today’s modern customer.
“Our strategic collaboration with Magna exemplifies this forward-thinking approach and we plan to leverage their expertise to amplify our operations and elevate customer satisfaction.”
With participating franchisees, Magna and Marco’s plan to finalise proof-of-concept prior to launching in-market test projects over the next months.
