Subscription-based meal kit provider Marley Spoon Australia has signed a commercial agreement with Home Delivery Service (HDS) to offer last-mile chilled delivery services in the country.
The company has conducted a trial with HDS before choosing it as a refrigerated delivery supplier.
Under the deal, HDS will focus on supporting Marley Spoon’s logistics solution by adding new delivery windows and increased postcode coverage while increasing service levels in existing areas.
Marley Spoon CEO Fabian Siegel said: “We are delighted to be working with HDS. Our experience so far with HDS has been positive and we are happy to add an additional logistics service provider to our operations in order for our customers to receive fresh produce, ready to cook, straight to their door without any fuss.”
The meal kit market in Australia is worth between $250m and $300m per annum, reported The Australian Financial review.
Based in Australia, HDS is a food logistics service provider that offers last-mile chilled delivery services across the country. The company currently covers around 85% of the total population.
Established in 2014, Marley Spoon offers subscription-based weekly meal kit services to customers in Australia, the US, Austria, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The company operates Marley Spoon and Dinnerly brands and is serving 173,000 active customers.
