McDonald’s has entered an agreement to acquire Alonyal, the entity operating its franchises in Israel since 1993.

The move will bring 225 restaurants and 5,000 employees under the direct purview of the McDonald’s Corporation.

Alonyal has been instrumental in establishing and expanding the McDonald’s brand in Israel.

Alonyal owner and CEO Omri Padan said: “For more than 30 years, Alonyal Limited has been proud to bring the Golden Arches to Israel and serve our communities.

“We’ve grown the brand to be the leading and most successful restaurant chain in Israel and are grateful to our management, employees, suppliers and customers who made this possible. We are encouraged by what the future holds.”

McDonald’s will assume full ownership of Alonyal’s operations. All Alonyal employees will retain their positions on equivalent terms.
