American fast-food chain McDonald’s has announced the extension of its $5 Meal Deal through to December 2024, alongside exclusive autumn offers.

Initially launched as part of the Summer of Value on 25 June 2024, the $5 Meal Deal has significantly increased customer traffic, prompting its continued availability in most US markets.

The $5 Meal Deal offers customers a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink.

According to a memo circulated within the McDonald’s US system and reported by CNBC, 93% of restaurants voted to extend the promotion beyond its initial end date in late July.

The company has also introduced deals for the autumn season for customers ordering on the McDonald’s app.

On 18 September, Double Cheeseburgers will be available for $0.50, and a McCrispy sandwich can be ordered for $2 on 9 November.

From 4 November to 2 December, customers can purchase ten-piece Chicken McNuggets for $1, limited to once per week per customer.

Customers can also order free medium fries with any minimum purchase of $1 on Fridays.

Franchisees across the US are also offering local deals both in-restaurant and on the McDonald’s app, further enhancing value for customers.

This extension coincides with the burger chain’s announcement of a new kiosk format in the US that will accept cash, potentially transforming customer interactions and streamlining operations.

The digital ordering stations, which can also dispense change, are designed to minimise cash register queues.
