McDonald’s Corporation has announced that it will sell Krispy Kreme’s three doughnut products at nine restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding areas in the US on a small-scale test.

On 26 October 2022, the fast-food chain will start a small operations test of select Krispy Kreme doughnuts, including Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnut, chocolate iced sprinkles doughnut, and raspberry-filled doughnut.

In a statement, Krispy Kreme said: “This is our first partnership with McDonald’s in the US as we constantly look for new ways to increase access to fresh doughnuts through our delivered fresh daily network – a key element of our omnichannel strategy to attain 50,000 points of access globally.”

It added that the doughnuts will be available all day, in-restaurant, as well as at the drive-thru at participating test locations while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme said it will be delivering its doughnut products daily to all the participating restaurants.

Customers can order them individually or in six-packs of the Original Glazed or a variety of flavours.

McDonald’s said: “McDonald’s is always looking for ways to give our fans more of what they crave, and we often conduct tests to inform future menu decisions.

“This small-scale test will help us understand how offering new bakery items like Krispy Kreme could impact operations in our restaurants.”

Krispy Kreme currently operates in more than 30 countries through its network of fresh doughnut shops, as well as partnerships with leading retailers, e-commerce and delivery business.
