American fast food company McDonald’s has started testing three new food items to put on its menu, a mighty chicken sandwich, mighty chicken deluxe sandwich and mighty chicken tenders. They will be launched across 35 restaurants in Augusta, US.
The company has used lightly-breaded and seasoned all-white meat chicken to create the three new additions to its menu.
Featuring the all-white meat chicken as a common ingredient, the mighty chicken sandwich is served on toasted, buttered Artisan and two pickles, with the mighty chicken deluxe sandwich on a toasted, buttered Artisan roll with leaf lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. The mighty chicken tenders are offered in four, six and ten piece servings.
McDonald’s Brand and Menu Strategy vice-president Linda VanGosen said: “Menu innovation is at the core of what we do at McDonald’s. This test reflects our commitment to respond to customers’ desires for more chicken offerings, including new distinct, delicious flavours. Our Mighty Chicken items have an irresistibly delicious profile.”
In addition, the company will feature the new chicken filet in crispy chicken salads and signature crafted recipe sandwiches customised with crispy chicken at all participating restaurants in Augusta.
McDonald’s Augusta owner and operator Fred Kruckow said: “We’re excited for our Augusta customers to be some of the first in the country to test the mighty chicken sandwich, mighty chicken deluxe sandwich and mighty chicken tenders.
