Global fast food chain McDonald’s is testing two new items, the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tenders, across more than 160 participating restaurants in Western Washington, US.
The chicken sandwich is made using a chicken breast fillet, sweet dijon sauce, pickles and an artisan roll, while the chicken tenders are available in four, six and ten piece servings.
McDonald’s menu innovation vice-president Linda VanGosen said: “Our focus on menu innovation is essential as we continue to evolve and build a better McDonald’s.
“Our made-to-order Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Ultimate Chicken Tenders reflect McDonald’s commitment to respond to customers’ desires for more chicken offerings, higher quality, and distinct, delicious flavours.”
The fast food chain is also testing sweet n’ spicy honey BBQ glazed chicken tenders for a limited time as part of the Ultimate Chicken portfolio.
McDonald’s Western Washington co-op president Shari Nixon said: “We’re excited for our Seattle and Western Washington customers to be some of the first in the country to test the ultimate chicken sandwich and chicken tender.
“We look forward to hearing our customers’ response to our hot, made-to-order chicken offerings.”
Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced that it is testing two new cold brew coffees under its McCafé brand at 74 restaurants in San Diego, California.
The two offerings include the McCafé cold brew and McCafé marble cold brew, which are made using 100% Arabica coffee beans.
