South Korean coffee chain Mega Coffee is set to make its international debut with the opening of its first store in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, on 30 May 2024, World Coffee Portal has reported.
This marks a significant milestone for the brand, which recently achieved a domestic count of 3,000 stores.
To open the location, the value-focused chain has entered a master franchise agreement with Mongolian pharmaceutical company Asia Pharma.
The inaugural Mega Coffee outlet will be on the first floor of Asia Pharma’s headquarters.
A Mega Coffee spokesperson stated: “While there are no concrete plans to open additional stores in other locations yet, we are considering further expansion into other regions in Asia and in America, with the experiential know-how gained through the Mongolian operation.”
Mega Coffee’s move into Mongolia follows in the footsteps of other South Korean coffee chains such as Caffebene, Tom N Toms Coffee and TOUS les JOURS, which have already established a presence in the country.
