Hong Kong-based hospitality group Lai Sun Dining has selected United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based project management consultancy company North 51 Consulting as lead consultant for the expansion of its restaurant brand China Tang to Dubai.

The new establishment, China Tang at The Lana, Dorchester Collection, will open in the fourth quarter of 2024, as reported on Zawya.

It will be situated in Dubai’s Business Bay and will be a significant addition to the city’s fine dining scene.

China Tang, which has seen success in locations such as The Dorchester in London, will be developed in Dubai under the guidance of North 51 Consulting director Natasha Abbas.

The restaurant will be housed within The Lana, a hotel designed by Sir Norman Foster, and will be part of OMNIYAT’s Business Bay portfolio.

The Dubai branch of China Tang will be located alongside the Marina and The Lana Promenade.

The 8,000ft² venue will include an external terrace for outdoor dining, allowing guests to enjoy Cantonese cuisine.

As the lead consultant for the China Tang Dubai project, North 51 Consulting’s role includes design management, project and commercial management and approvals management.

Since early 2023, North 51 Consulting has been pivotal in steering the project in line with the brand’s vision.

The design of China Tang Dubai will echo the aesthetic found in its other locations, drawing inspiration from its branches in London’s Mayfair, Hong Kong and Beijing.

The restaurant will feature two levels connected by a guest elevator and an internal staircase, offering patrons a choice between the elegant main dining area and the exclusive lounge upstairs.

In addition to the brand’s signature dishes, China Tang Dubai will also present an extensive selection of fine beverages.

Abbas said: “China Tang Dubai epitomises a harmonious blend of timeless elegance and culinary mastery. We are privileged to be integral to this remarkable endeavour and are dedicated to delivering an unparalleled dining experience that reflects the rich heritage and sophistication synonymous with the China Tang brand.”
