According to a company PR, the system will give operators real-time oversight of operations, provide data-led insights and standardise workflows.

Oracle commercial cloud applications executive vice-president and general manager Alex Alt said: “Restaurant Operations brings together deep industry-specific expertise, leading technology, and data management in a unified platform with AI-enhanced workflows.

“With these AI-powered capabilities, restaurant and hospitality leaders can optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and unlock rapid innovation at scale in their Oracle Simphony Cloud or multi-point-of-sale (POS) environments.”

The new application is suitable for a broad user base, from single-site restaurants and emerging concepts to larger chains and franchise groups.

For organisations using Oracle Simphony Cloud, Restaurant Operations adds a redesigned interface and expanded controls for materials and stock management.

AI capabilities are embedded to handle repetitive activities while aiming to improve speed and accuracy for employees.

AI‑driven analytics are also built into the platform. These are intended to support decisions in areas such as stock levels and replenishment by highlighting trends and generating predictions related to inventory and other operational factors.

The companies said that the application can aggregate information from Oracle Simphony Cloud and third-party POS systems to create a consolidated back-office view.

Oracle NetSuite AI, product, and technology senior vice-president Brian Chess said: “Restaurants have traditionally relied on a patchwork of systems to manage inventory, purchasing, finance, and other critical processes.

“Restaurant Operations brings the power of Oracle and NetSuite together in a unified solution with AI embedded across workflows to help automate routine tasks and surface operational trends.”

Oracle NetSuite Restaurant Operations is scheduled to be available to customers worldwide within the next 12 months.

It is expected to include localisation for more than 110 countries, 190 currencies and 27 languages.

Last October, Oracle rolled out new Oracle Simphony Kiosk upgrades to enhance efficiency and customer experience in hospitality.
