American celebrity chef Paula Deen has opened a new Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen restaurant in Fairview, Texas.

The restaurant includes a 250-seat dining room and The Paula Deen Store, a large retail outlet offering home, kitchen and lifestyle collections.

Cooking with Paula, an interactive cooking programme, will also begin during the coming months in the restaurant.

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen’s menu includes southern fried chicken, spare ribs, Georgia fried catfish, baked mac & cheese, and fried okra as a meal range along with desserts such as Paula’s ooey gooey butter cake.

Deen said: “I adore all of my fans in Texas, and bringing my Southern cooking to the Lone Star State is something I have dreamed about for years.

“I have taken my favourite recipes and brought them to life in an atmosphere that feels just like my own home.”

Currently, the restaurant chain operates two locations in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and is planning to open more locations later this year.

American hospitality and entertainment firm Phoenix Hospitality and Entertainment has assisted Paula Deen in opening the Fairview restaurant.

Phoenix Hospitality and Entertainment founder and CEO said: “We can’t wait to bring the love and warmth of Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen to Dallas. Paula’s fans and guests are going to love the ‘Cooking with Paula’ experience we are launching later this year.”

Apart from this restaurant chain, Deen also owns and operates The Lady & Sons and Paula Deen’s Creek House restaurants.
