US-based pizza restaurant chain Pizza Inn has deployed Thrive point of sale (POS) system from Granbury Solutions to streamline its operations.
Thrive will handle the complexity in the pizza chain’s various business models such as buffet, carry out, delivery, online ordering, drive-thru and catering.
It will also handle Delivery-Carry Out, Express and PIE concepts of the restaurant chain.
Pizza Inn information technology vice-president David Roberts said: “The main criteria Pizza Inn had as an evolving brand was the ability for the POS system to maximise thru-put, add improved functionality, and leverage custom third-party integrations.
“This was a critical piece to the selection process due to the increasingly competitive nature of the restaurant industry.”
The POS solution offers enhanced experiences to franchisees, operations and guests through dine-in, carry out, catering and online modules of the pizza chain.
The pizza chain formed a committee with corporate employees and franchise owners to test five different POS solutions over a two-year period, of which in-store testing with Thrive lasted six months.
Pizza Inn plans to deploy the POS solution in existing stores over the next two years while new locations will be opened with Thrive.
Granbury Solutions president Jon Decker said: “We have always enjoyed working with individual Pizza Inn locations and franchisees, so we look forward to expanding our relationship with the company as a whole.
“As a restaurant point of sale solution that is built with pizza and delivery in mind, we hope to continue developing a solid relationship with Pizza Inn and constantly provide them with top-of-the-line technology.”
A part of Rave Restaurant Group, the fast casual chain currently operates more than 200 locations in the US and international markets.
