Pizza restaurant Cicis appoints new CEO

US-based pizza buffet restaurant Cicis has permanently appointed William “Bill” Mitchell as its new chief executive officer, after serving as interim CEO since January.

US-based pizza buffet restaurant Cicis has permanently appointed William “Bill” Mitchell as its new chief executive officer, after serving as interim CEO since January.

Mitchell succeeds Darin Harris, who stepped down as CEO earlier in the year.

Before joining Cicis, Mitchell worked as Dunkin’ Brands International president, overseeing the business of nearly 8,500 Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins restaurants located in more than 60 countries globally.

Mitchell said: “This is a dynamic time to join the Cicis team because while the system has come far, there is still so much more we can do to become stronger operators, serve our guests better and grow the business.

“Bill has an outstanding track record as a leader of large franchise systems, improving operations, customer service and overall business growth.”

“My first area of focus is to get out in the field to meet our franchisees and listen to their ideas about improving how we do things at Cicis.”

In addition, Mitchell worked as the global operations president for Papa John’s International and held top leadership roles at AFC Enterprises overseeing the business planning and operation of 1,400 franchise locations.

The company plans to continue its momentum under Mitchell’s leadership, where he will also serve on Cicis’ board of directors.

Acquired by Arlon Group in 2016, Cicis currently operates 430 restaurants in 31 US states, offering a wide range of pizzas including traditional and flatbreads, pastas, salads and desserts for dine-in, takeout and catering.
