Playa Bowls, an American quick-service restaurant chain known for its fruit bowls, has signed 14 new multi-unit franchise agreements in the first quarter of 2024 as part of its expansion strategy.

The agreements will result in the opening of 63 new venues in US markets, including Manhattan, Sarasota, Phoenix and Miami.

The expansion also includes nine additional single-unit franchises.

With 20 new locations launched since January 2024, Playa Bowls is on a fast track to open 75 and secure more than 100 franchise commitments.

New stores are to open in various US locations, including Arizona, Atlanta, Cleveland, Florida, Houston, Maryland, New York, Pittsburgh, Rhode Island and Texas.

Playa Bowls chief development officer Jayson Tipp said: “While 60% of our new franchises are signed with existing operators, we’re pleased to welcome more Playa Bowls franchisees into our system to assist in the nationwide development of our brand.
